This 15.5" long necklace is consists of very large, typical cream color Japan Akoya pearls that range in size from 9-10mm and have very smooth surface, rare on pearls of this size with nacre thick enough to last for decades. The necklace is knotted on ivory thread and finished with an easy to secure small solid 14k yellow gold hook clasp. This was part Pacific Pearls Tokyo inventory. We can extend it with like pearls, or revert it to temp strung for export.
This is a typical natural color of akoya pearls, which are all treated with peroxide to remove greyish spots that are almost always present. This is called shiminuki (spot removal) and has little or no effect on color. Most akoya are treated more intensively to make them white.
