With no other widely used names for this weird shapes, the Chinese pearl producers just called them \"biwa\" (despite it being an obvious misnomer, it is still widely used as a term to describe odd shape Chinese fresh water pearls). This necklace is one of the few examples I have ever seen of ACTUAL \"stick pearls\" from Lake Biwa, Japan.
